What does the Datanla route involve?
The canyoning journey starts at Datanla Waterfall basecamp, continues into the forest and returns to Datanla. Expect a combination of rope descents, a zipline section, forest walking, stream crossings, swimming and natural slides according to the confirmed programme and conditions. This is an active guided outing rather than a visit to a waterfall viewpoint.
Training and equipment
Before entering the route, your guides introduce the equipment and practise the basic rope techniques with you. Check the fit of your helmet, harness and buoyancy equipment, and ask what footwear and clothing are suitable. Tell the team if anything feels uncomfortable or if an instruction is unclear.
Who should check before booking?
Previous canyoning experience is not the only consideration. Tell the operator about your water confidence, fitness, relevant medical conditions and any support needs. Ask about participation requirements for children or anyone unsure about heights or moving water. The team must assess whether the programme suits your group.
What should you bring?
Bring suitable clothes for getting wet, a change of clothes, a towel and any personal items advised in your booking confirmation. Ask about footwear, storage for valuables, photographs and dietary requirements before departure. Travel light on the route.
Price, transport and inclusions
Highland Sport Travel’s published canyoning prices are 1,350,000 VND per person for groups of 8–15, 1,650,000 VND per person for groups of 4–7, and 1,886,000 VND per person for a private tour. The tour includes city-centre hotel transfers, English-speaking guides, basic canyoning equipment, lunch and bottled water. Hotels outside the city centre are outside the standard pick-up area. Weather changes and individual obstacles
Water levels and weather can change the route. Follow the on-site briefing for each activity; a blog cannot replace practical instruction. The suspended 7-metre free jump is not part of the advertised programme. Ask how postponement, route changes and cancellations are handled before paying.
